My inspiration for the layout of the studio came from Rick Rubin and how he recorded the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He wanted them all in one room and he brought in a vocal booth for Kiedis and the space just took on a really cool and relaxed vibe.
This is what I wanted for my studio. The acoustical treatments provide a flat listening experience at the control desk position and the space takes on that recording in your living room feel.

Another thing I decided to offer was a world class V-Kit to track drums with. In my 15+ years of recording drums, only 10-20% of the drummers I have ever worked with had drum sets that justified being mic'd up and utilized for a recording session. Unfortunately, the majority of drummers (due to the cost) brought in kits that were sonically suspect (in whole or part) and in the end they were all unsatisfied with the results. I always felt bad for these guys and the sonic limitiations their kits provided them in the studio, so with the world's best V-Kit available, your drum tracks will sound great.
The Roland kit is amazing and the feel of playing it is addictive. From classic jazz kits to all out metal this kit delivers.
Every aspect of the drum sounds can be quickly modified to fit your project. From shell sizes, eq'ing, mic positions, room selections, beater types, tuning, you name it... EVERYTHING can be modified.
You are more than welcome to come in and test drive it.

The vocal booth is from WhisperRoom. The noise floor is basically gone to keep vocals, acoustic guitars and amps clean and clear when mic'd.
Yes there is a fireplace in the space and no it's not my living room.
The studio also has what I call an idea/jam room. There is a Tascam 24 Track NEO2488 and a smaller Alesis V-Kit to pound out quick demo ideas or to map out song parts before going into the main tracking room. Headphones are wall mounted all around the room providing up to six people being involved at once.
